Noong ako’y bata pa, may napansin na kakaiba ang aking mga magulang. Hindi ako tulad ng ibang mga bata na nakikisalamuha o nakikipaglaro sa ibang kabataang kasing-edad ko.

Kaya roon, ipinayo ng paaralan sa aking mga magulang na ipatingin daw ako sa espesyalista na kung tatawagin ay “developmental pediatrician” o “devped.” Ito raw ay upang masuri kung may problema raw ako o wala. Maayos na ang aking kalagayan pagkatapos itinigil ng aking magulang ang “therapy sessions.” Pumasok ako nang maayos at nakakuha ako ng magandang marka.

Dahil dito, pinainom ako ng gamot kahit na may side effects ang mga ito. Dapat ako uminom ng gamot araw-araw para maging maayos ang “chemical imbalances” sa aking utak. Nang isinagawa ang assessment, tinignan ng devped ang lahat ng aspetong “developmental” sa akin tulad ng kognitibo, motor, hearing, at speech. Tinignan niya ito lahat hanggang sa sinabi ng devped na ‘di lang bipolar disorder ang mayroon sa akin kundi mayroon akong autismo.
