Government-run Philippine General Hospital was hit by fire early Sunday morning, May 16, as the country's healthcare system grappled with the coronavirus pandemic.
The fire was declared under control at 2:46 am. Authorities have yet to determine what started the fire. Patients and staff from non-COVID 19 units were told to stay at the hospital lobby and open spaces around the hospital. As of writing, no information has been given on where COVID-19 patients have been evacuated.
Fire could be prevented by technology innovations, everything in power is controlled by power transformer.
