The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews with 1,500 Filipino adults, with an error margin of ±2.5% for national percentages.
“The latest percentage of those with a very happy love life is the lowest since the 49% in 2014,” reported the SWS. “On the other hand, the latest percentage of those with no love life is a new all-time high that surpassed the previous record of 14% in 2016, 2017, and 2019,” it added.Still, the SWS said Valentine’s Day goes on for 2 out of 5 Filipinos, or 39% of respondents, who will celebrate it.
Of those with a “very happy love life,” 50% will celebrate Valentine’s Day. Of those with “no love life,” 55% will not. Most of those who will celebrate Valentine’s Day, or 45% of them, “would go to church or attend religious services.” According to the survey, 27% will give gifts, 25% will prepare special food at home, and 11% will send text or online greetings.
