The Philippine women’s national football team has gone up again in the world rankings to no. 44.

The uptick in the Filipinas’ stock came three weeks after their stint in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 last month.Because of this, the Filipinas are now the seventh-ranked team in Asia. This is a happy development for newly appointed Philippine national women’s coach Mark Torcaso, who took over Wednesday, three weeks after his fellow Australian mentor Alen Stajcic bade the team goodbye.

Sweden, which settled for the bronze medal in the Women’s World Cup, claimed the top position in the world rankings for the first time ever.Reigning Women’s World Cup champions, Spain is in second place, while the Team USA fell to third following their earliest-ever World Cup exit.Morocco had the biggest leap, rising 14 places to No. 58.
