OVER two years since the start of the coronavirus disease pandemic, nearly 4,000 breakthrough coronavirus infections have been recorded by the Food and Drug Administration .
Based on its latest adverse events following immunization report, the FDA said that as of March 20, a total of 3,838 confirmed Covid-19 cases have been reported among vaccinated individuals.It added that the number includes 221 severe cases, which resulted in fatal outcome.As of March 20, there were a total of 65.17 million fully vaccinated individuals in the country.
The report, however, pointed out that the said infections were found to be unrelated to the use of the vaccines."The vaccines currently being used in the Covid-19 vaccination program are non-replicating viral vector, inactivated, and mRNA vaccines," it said.
