Best known for his pieces that took inspiration from Muslim culture, Farrales was among the pioneer designers who put the Philippines on the international map of fashion.
In his six decades in the industry, he took the “malong” fashion to other parts of the world like Canada, Los Angeles, New York, and more. In 2015, he was awarded by the Cultural Center of the Philippines the “Gawad CCP Para Sa Sining,” its highest award, for his contribution in design.
