Tropical Depression Fabian has strengthened into a tropical storm but is not expected to stay long in the country.'Fabian' is unlikely to bring heavy rainfall, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.It was spotted 1,090 kilometers East Northeast of Extreme Luzon and is moving 10 kilometers per hour North Northwestward, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kph.'Fabian' will exit on Tuesday morning.
It is expected to reach the severe tropical storm category on Monday afternoon and reach typhoon category on Tuesday evening before making landfall in mainland China.Meanwhile, the weather bureau is monitoring another low pressure area outside of the Philippines Area of Responsibility located 630 km west of Calayan, Cagayan.It is not expected to enter the country.The two weather systems enhanced the southwest monsoon which may bring rains in Western Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro.
