THE Sandiganbayan on Friday found actor-politician Roderick Paulate guilty on one count of graft and nine counts of falsification of public documents in relation to the hiring of ghost employees in 2010 during his first term as a Quezon City councilor.Following his election as Quezon City Second District councilor in 2010, Paulate was suspended from office due to his alleged employment of ghost employees from July to November of the same year.

The Office of the Ombudsman officially filed the case in 2018, stating that Paulate forged a job order or contract of service involving the signatures of fake contractors to compel the local government to provide cash for their pay.Paulate received a sentence ranging from 10.5 to 62 years in prison. In addition to serving time in jail, Paulate was also ordered to pay a total of P90,000 in penalties for each charge of falsification and be permanently barred from holding public office.
