Domingo"Jun" Celis Jr, one of the best point guards of the 1960s who played a key role in Crispa's early dominance in local basketball, died due to COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 17. He was 80.
Raymond, in an interview with Rappler, said his father will be cremated and his remains brought to Manila. “He was one of our best point guards. He passes so well and he had a good feel for the game,” said Arturo Valenzona, a teammate of Celis in Yco and later an opponent when he went to Crispa. Celis later said Dalupan kept him on the court despite not scoring much because of his passing. He fed the ball to Crispa's main gunners Adriano Papa Jr and Danny Florencio. Later, William"Bogs" Adornado made it a deadly triumvirate.
May his soul RIP🙏
