The European Union (EU) Delegation to the Philippines will organize on Monday (June 10) a stargazing and public telescope viewing event as part of its year-long celebration of the Viva Europa 2019 cultural showcase.

Telescopes and other astronomy gadgets will be assembled to illustrate and identify the most prominent constellations, and to observe the Moon and the brightest celestial objects that can be seen in the heavily light-polluted evening sky of Manila.

Although he pursued astronomy as a hobby and as a passion, Saritella excelled in the subject of astronomical navigation while at the nautical college. He studied astronomy at the University of Bologna for two years, then pursued a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Earth Sciences in the United Kingdom, which eventually led him to begin working in the EU Delegation to Indonesia in 2001.

The most famous invention that has contributed to the advancement of Astronomy is a telescope that could magnify what can be seen by the naked eye in the night sky.
