Enhance further enforcement of laws on women’s rights — IBP

“The Philippines ranks high in global standards for women-friendly policies yet the implementation of existing laws that protect and uplift women needs acceleration and improvement,” the IBP said in a statement on the celebration of the International Women’s Day.

To help the government, the IBP declared it will continue to raise “awareness for women and gender issues” and strongly advocate “for rules and legislation to further promote gender sensitivity and equality and eliminate bias against women.” It also called on lawyers “to challenge the status quo and meaningfully contribute to change to achieve gender parity in our lifetime.”“We take pride in the social, economic, and political achievements of our sisters in the legal profession,” it stated.

“Our world would be half-fulfilled and twice-imperiled without the women who care for us,” it stressed.
