Employers must provide transport, lodging during modified lockdown: Palace COVID19Quarantine

MANILA - Employers must provide transportation or housing to their workers, Malacañang said Monday as businesses in Metro Manila partially opened under a loosened pandemic lockdown.

The enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Laguna, and several parts of Central Luzon was dialed down to a modified ECQ from Saturday after 2 months of restrictions shuttered most businesses and led to the first economic contraction in 22 years.

Under the modified lockdown, select industries are allowed to operate with half of their employees at the office while the remaining are urged to work from home. Some employees, particularly those working in malls, are concerned they would have to walk to their workplaces with public transport still suspended.
