Emma Stone to play iconic villainess Cruella in 101 Dalmatians remake

Emma Stone will play the role of the iconic villainess from 101 Dalmatians Cruella de Vil in the film’s remake.

A photo of Emma Stone as Cruella was posted by Disney Studios on its Twitter account Sunday.Since it was posted, the photo has gotten more than 76,000 likes, and has been shared more than 21,000 times.The movie, which will also star Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry, is set to be released May 28, 2021.

Stone, prior to landing the iconic role, has received numerous acting awards, including an Academy and a Golden Globe.Cruella was originally played by Glen Close in 1996, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.Based on Dodie Smith’s 1956 novel “A Hundred and One Dalmatians”, the movie adaptation which Close starred in was released on November 27, 1996.
