Education stakeholders emphasize the importance of ensuring schools can prevent coronavirus transmission if classroom-based learning resumes during this pandemic.

Basilio noted that it is important to ensure schools will have the means to prevent transmission of the coronavirus - like hand washing facilities, proper ventilation, and medicines.as the agency anticipates the vaccination of teachers and students against COVID-19. She said she is hoping President Rodrigo Duterte - who has the final say on the matter - will consider it this time in selected areas in August, in time for the new school year.

He said for colleges and universities, the Commission on Higher Education has required them to retrofit their facilities for limited face-to-face classes when it was allowed early this year.
