Filipino tennis ace Alexandra 'Alex Eala' has notched a pair of wins at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) W100 Tokyo 19A event in Japan on Tuesday.

Eala first defeated Natsumi Kawaguchi from Japan in the singles round of 32 in two sets, 6-4, 6-3.As a result, the 18-year-old Filipina will proceed to the Round of 16, against 5th-seeded Australian Kimberly Birrell on Wednesday.

In the doubles' round of 16 just hours later, Eala was paired with Kawaguchi and defeated the Thai pair of Luksika Kumkhum and Peangtarn Plipuech in two sets, 6-4, 7-6.The pair will face off against Georgia's Sofya Lansere and Natela Dzalamidze in the quarterfinal match on Thursday.In the singles' qualifiers, Eala defeated Japan's Kanako Morisaki 6-4, 6-2 on Sunday, and Finland's Anastasia Kulikova, 6-2, 6-3 on Monday, to advance to the round of 32.
