President Rodrigo Duterte has issued an EO for a study that would “revisit the country’s policy on nuclear energy and to determine its feasibility as a long term option for power generation.”

Executive Order No. 116, also created the Nuclear Energy Program Inter-Agency Committee to conduct the study and formulate a national strategy.
