President Rodrigo Duterte rejected criticisms made by Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon about the alleged failure of his massive infrastructure program, saying the senator does not know how to count.

The President said people could look around to see the infrastructure projects initiated by the administration, contradicting Drilon’s observation.

“He does not really know how to count. If it’s a statement just in derision, we can’t do anything about that, that’s free. I said, well, people judge best when they condemn,” he added. Presidential Adviser for Flagship Projects Vivencio Dizon recently said the Build, Build, Build program is not a failure but that the administration could do better and accelerate the construction of the infrastructure projects.

The President, meanwhile, appeared no longer interested in emergency powers to hasten the completion of the Build, Build, Build program designed to improve mobility and connectivity in the country.
