President Rodrigo Duterte contradicts Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr, who urged the cancellation of contracts with China firms blacklisted by America.

CACC is a subsidiary of Construction & Communications Corporation , one of China's largest state-run infrastructure firms which was reported to have been involved in China'sin the South China Sea and its construction of military bases on features within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone. “If I find that any of those companies are doing business with us, then I would strongly recommend that we terminate the relationship with that company,” Locsin said last August 28, in a CNN Philippines interview.
