President Duterte’s latest plea to companies to settle their tax obligations to resume franchise operations applies to ABS-CBN network, according to a Palace official.Presidential spokesman Harry Roque explained that the President was addressing all companies seeking a franchise, that includes the media network, when he issued a reminder about the civic duty to pay the correct taxes.
“I guess it is a safe conclusion it is also applicable to ABS-CBN but it applies to all those who want a franchise,” he added. “Do not compel me to do something which is not lawful. Just because you give them a franchise, it does not follow that all of their misdeeds in the past are condoned and forgiven,” Duterte said, without naming any company.
