Malacañang said the government's nationwide unilateral and reciprocal ceasefire with the Communist rebels will continue after President Duterte chose to let the insurgents' alleged violation of the truce slide.

Malacañang said the government’s nationwide unilateral and reciprocal ceasefire with the Communist rebels will continue after President Duterte chose to let the insurgents’ alleged violation of the truce slide.Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo made the statement after the National Democratic Front said the attacks by the New People’s Army in Camarines Norte and Iloilo on December 23 were not violations of the ceasefire as those were defensive actions against government forces.

However, Panelo said Duterte was insisting that Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Maria Sison should come to the Philippines and have a one-on-one talk with him. Panelo also described as nonsense Sison’s concern for his security as one of the reasons why he does not want to come home after being in exile for so long. The Communist leader earlier said he preferred to have the one-on-one talk with Duterte in any other Asian country to avoid “spoilers” or the people who supposedly wanted to derail the peace negotiations. The Palace, however, said Sison had no right to demand.

MMFF 2019: Unexpected hits, befuddling missesThrough the years, we’ve always let the vacuous content (“Fantastica”) and neuron-decimating titles (“Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad”) of Vice Ganda’s Metro Manila Film Festival Filipino students are the lowest in reading comprehension. Filipinos are the 3rd most ignorant about issues that affect them. No wonder, most Pinoys watch inane comedies, year in, year out. Anything substantive make their precious few brain cells commit hara-kiri. 🤔🙄😎 At last, something factual about our movies. Im sorry to say this but I never loved watching local movies bcoz of its plot regardless of who are the actors in it. I dont hate them but I say take this as a challenge to produce quality movies that pairup those of international.
