DTI moves to set national standards for cooking adobo, other PH dishes

The Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Philippine Standards has created a technical committee on Filipino dishes that will develop Philippine National Standards when it comes to cookingThe DTI said in a press statement that the committee began setting the standards for cooking adobo in May, referring mainly tofor their guide on how to prepare and cook the Filipino dish.

The committee members are representatives from the University of the Philippines Diliman-College of Home Economics , Philippine Chamber of Food Manufacturers, Incorporated , Philippine Association of Meat Processors, Incorporated , Department of Science and Technology-Industrial Technology Development Institute , Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Incorporated , LTB Chefs Association, Asia Society Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and theThe DTI said the...

LOL!!! Yun nga yung beauty ng pinoy dishes e. The freedom to create it your own and be able to share diffrent recipes of the same dish. DtiPhilippines stop this nonesense. 😒

Total waste of time & resources. Who would be your expert consultants? kusineros, chefs? LOL. Whatever standard adobo you come up with, it would only be the version of your consultants. The rest of the nation will go on cooking their own version. Even restos will not adopt it.

Hi Rappler I respectfully nominate my hubby for his authentic adobo style, it has the history of the old filipino back when our ancestors need to store food inside a 'tapayan'... it wont fail, kids will love it! im proud to say that...
