The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continued to augment the resources of local government units (LGUs) to help assist families affected by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake on July 27.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development continued to augment the resources of local government units to help assist families affected by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake on July 27.

As of July 31, at least P11.2 million worth of humanitarian assistance was provided by the DSWD, local government units, and non-government organizations to the affected population.Based on the DSWD’s Disaster Response Monitoring, the earthquake has affected 82,336 families or 314,285 individuals from 998 barangays in Northern Luzon, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region.DSWD also reported that 7,406 families or 30,345 persons are staying with relatives.

As of July 29, DSWD said that over P3 million standby funds, 521,758 family food packs worth P320 million, other food items amounting to P212 million, and non-food items worth P487 million are still available at the DSWD Central Office, field offices, and National Resource Operations Center.
