The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured the Quezon City (QC) government on Wednesday night (March 18) that it will provide the

“necessary” assistance to its residents who cannot work following the government’s imposition of the enhanced community quarantine .DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista gave in to the request of Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte who earlier appealed to the national government and DSWD to step in and assist her city government to provide food to those who cannot work due to the ECQ from April 6 to April 12.

Belmonte earlier said that by the fourth week of the ECQ, the city government’s funds “will be insufficient.”Bautista earlier assured the public that the government has enough funds to sustain the distribution of food packs in Metro Manila and in other areas of Luzon.
