Una itong isinagawa sa Marikina City, na isa sa mga piniling lugar para sa pag-aaral.

MAYNILA - Sinimulan na ng Department of Science and Technology nitong Martes ang pagsasagawa ng dry run bilang paghahanda sa clinical trials na layong pag-aralan ang bisa ng pag-“mix and match” o paggamit ng magkaibang COVID-19 vaccine brands sa mga Pilipino.Ayon kay DOST Undersecretary Rowena Guevara, aprubado na ang mismong site kung saan gaganapin ang clinical trials sa lungsod, pati na ang pasilidad para sa storage ng mga gagamiting bakuna.

“Sakaling magkakaroon ng pagpapagamot o kaya ma-ospital ay mayroon tayong nakalaang pondo para rito. Bahagi ito ng guarantee na ibinibigay natin sa subject na kasama sa clinical trial,” ani Teodoro. “Hinihintay na lang natin ‘yung FDA approval ng study … the moment lumabas ‘yung sa FDA, pwede nang magsimula ‘yung ready, which is sa Marikina”, ni Guevara.

Ang ahensya naman at ang Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology ang inaasahang magdadala ng manpower at hahawak sa recruitment ng mga lalahok sa clinical trials. “This is open for non-Muntinlupa residents because probably, marami nang nabakunahan and mahihirapan sila sa recruitment,” sabi pa ni Bunyi.

Kasama sa pag-aaralan sa clinical trials ang epekto sa proteksyong naibibigay ng mga COVID vaccine kung Sinovac ang unang dose at ibang brand ang ikalawang dose, pati na ang epekto sa bisa ng bakuna kung ibang brand ang ituturok na ikatlong dose sa fully vaccinated ng Sinovac.
