— A suspected drug peddler was killed and 15 others were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted by Bulacan police in this province on Feb. 18 and Feb. 19.
Police said that Mangcoy is known as the source of illegal drugs in Barangay Saog and nearby villages. After they confirmed and verified the said report, they immediately conducted a buy-bust operation to arrest the suspect. Authorities said that after the consummated drug transaction around 2:55 a.m. on Feb. 18, the suspect engaged the arresting officer in a shootout which prompted the police to fire back, resulting in the suspect’s death.
