The driver of the motor vehicle that hit several Filipino cyclists along the Arabian Gulf Road in Kuwait surrendered to authorities. ManilaBulletin READ:

This was announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs during an interview with DZBB on Sunday, May 28.

DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Affairs Eduardo de Vega said the driver involved in the hit-and-run incident voluntarily surrendered to the police. “The driver voluntarily surrendered to the police, so the Kuwaiti government is investigating, it is reviewing the films of the accident,” he said in Filipino.Local media reported that at least 15 Filipino bikers were injured after the foreign motorist drove into them while traversing a main road early Friday morning.

The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has already checked on the victims to provide them with necessary assistance, while their kin were already contacted. De Vega said two bikers sustained severe head and back injuries from the incident. All the seven victims were discharged from the hospital. In an earlier statement, the DFA said "it may be premature to conclude that the perpetrator was targetting a specific group of nationals."
