The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed the paving of two local roads that are seen to give relief of mobility to far-flung communities in the mountainous town of Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said Friday, Sept. 30, that the 910-lane meter road in Barangay Capintalan and the 1.14-lane kilometer road in Barangay Piut were concreted by the department led by DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino.

“The upgraded roads link the once isolated upland communities to the nearest major highway passing Carranglan, helping local farmers in efficiently transporting and hauling their agricultural products to market centers,” said Bonoan. With the concreting of roads, Bonoan said the residents now have safer and faster access to institutions providing social service within and outside Carranglan town.

The DPWH Nueva Ecija First District Engineering Office implemented the two road projects amounting to P9.7 million from the General Appropriations Act of 2022.
