DPWH-7 turns over dorm, isolation facilities intended for healthcare workers

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways in Central Visayas has officially turned over various isolation and dormitory facilities intended for medical frontliners here in Cebu to respective national government agencies and local government units. On Friday, October 23, separate ceremonies were held to mark the completion of a total of 23 units composed of off-site dormitories, isolation centers, and ‘converted isolation facilities’ in Metro Cebu.

These are found within the properties of Mactan Cebu International Airport , Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Block 27 , the old North Bus Terminal, DPWH-7’s compound in South Road Properties , Apas Evacuation Center in Cebu City, and Women’s Center in Camp Sotero Cabahug. DPWH-7 reported spending P294 million for the construction of these facilities which formed part of the national government’s plans in addressing the coronavirus disease 2019 crisis.
