The Department of Transportation has tapped PayMaya to provide digital payments for taxi cabs and ridesharing vehicles, formally called Transport Network Vehicle Services in the country.

The move comes as strict quarantine measures to curb the spread of the new coronavirus disease are easing in several areas, including Metro Manila.
