DOTR eyes alternative transport modes like bikes under post-quarantine

The Department of Transportation suggested on Thursday the use of alternative forms of transportation after the COVID-19 quarantine in the country

On the issue of safety among bikers, Tuazon said the transportation department is working on designated bike lanes in major roads in the country. “Initially, we will be using the modernized jeeps," he explained."If the quantity is not enough to service the population of the riding public, then we will go back to using the older jeeps."

Less car on the road means less pollution, people on their bikes means healthier lifestyle. 👌🏽👍🏽Before implementing tho, safety measures should be in place. Piloting the idea into the city would be the first step

Bad decision. Public transportation, such as modern buses and trains, is the best form of mass transportation for passengers, especially in Manila.
