The trial will be divided into three groups: the first group will study the same vaccines under the same platform, the second group will study the vaccines to be interchanged, and the third group will be given booster doses.

In his weekly report, DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Pena said DOST is seeking 3,000 volunteers aged 18 years old and above in eight sites in the National Capital Region, including Manila, Pasig, Antipolo, Marikina, Quezon City, Muntinlupa, as well as Cebu City and Davao City.

Earlier, the DOST said the vaccines that will be used in the trials are AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Sputnik, and Sinovac. The Food and Drug Administration has approved the country’s COVID-19 mix-and-match trials on Nov. 17.
