Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III agreed with the National Economic and Development’s (NEDA) assessment that the pending security of tenure (SOT) bill should protect not only the interests of employees.

As the bill awaits President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s signature, his chief economic manager expressed his view that the current form of the SOT should not be disadvantageous to the business sector’s employers.On Wednesday, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M.

The finance chief likewise cited “several” Supreme Court rulings that the government policies should also adhere to protecting business interests. Following Pernia’s reservations over the SOT bill, Senator Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva criticized the NEDA chief for his belated concerns on the proposed measure.
