Dominguez told the Senate Committee of the Whole that the price tags of the COVID-19 vaccines purchased by the government ranged from $6.75 (P324.44) per dose to $27.59 (P1,326.13) per dose. | CMRamosINQ

The national government has so far signed supply agreements with China’s Sinovac Biotech for CoronaVac, Russia’s Gamaleya Institute for Sputnik V, and United States’s Moderna.

“This is the requirement of the suppliers and we cannot disclose trade secrets, included in the trade secrets are the pricing. We cannot disclose that publicly without violating the non-disclosure agreement,” he said. But Drilon wondered how the government would be able to comply with the constitutional requirement of an audit on vaccine procurement when it is bound by an NDA.Dominguez said the Commission on Audit can still conduct an audit on how the government spent taxpayers’ money for the acquisition of the COVID-19 vaccines.

The finance chief likewise stressed that the banks which granted loans to the Philippines for the procurement of the vaccines make sure the government is not overpaying for the shots.
