An investigation has been launched against officials of Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Hong Kong, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Sunday.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has ordered the probe ” following the replacement of an online system for processing, credentialing, welfare protection and data storage for overseas placement.”

The labor department said that POLO officials in Hong Kong has terminated the service agreement with EmployEasy Ltd. now Employeasy Group Ltd. last December 5, 2018 effective December 30, 2018, ” to pave the way for the new system.” “The new online system will replace the one that has been in-place for 11 years, and which has provided OFWs , employers, and accredited employment agencies data and information on POLO programs, projects, and services on real-time,” it added.
