The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has already lifted the work stoppage order it issued on the Skyway Extension Project in Muntinlupa City.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ordered the lifting of the WSO after the contractor and subcontractors of the project were able to demonstrate adherence to the occupational safety and health standards and pay the administrative fines.

“I decided to lift the WSO also with respect to the area where the accident took place,” he said in an online forum on Wednesday. The DOLE issued the WSO following the accident that occurred on November 21, 2020 at the north-bound Skyway Extension Project in Muntinlupa City. One person died and at least six others injured when a crane used in the Skyway Extension Project in Muntinlupa City tilted and fell.

Last week, the Labor department also issued an order asking the contractor EEI Corporation, and sub-contractors Mayon Machinery Rentrade Inc and Bauer Foundations Philippines Inc. of the project to pay the corresponding administrative fine after they were found to be noncompliant to existing occupational safety and health standards.
