“We are really more after the liability of those who might have unlawfully recruited her or neglected her after placing her in Kuwait.” he added. The justice secretary also said that the investigation on the recruiter will start after the DOJ’s independent investigation. “Although there has been some examination of the body done in Kuwait, we still have to do our own” he said.
“As soon as possible, we have to coordinate with the Department of Labor and Employment , with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration , in order to do what the DOJ has to do.” he added.She was beaten to death by her employer last December, 2019. Reports said three months before she died, Villavende informed her recruiters that she was being maltreated and underpaid by her employers in Kuwait.
