The Department of Health (DOH) and the University of the Philippines-National Institutes of Health (UP-NIH) on Monday tied up for the creation of an institute to strengthen health promotion in the country.

DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, UP Manila Chancellor Carmencita Padilla, and UP-NIH executive director Eva Maria Cutiongco-Dela Paz inked a memorandum of understanding for the initiative.

These will be possible through the establishment of the Institute of Health Promotion, according to DOH.
