In a memorandum, the DoH said the activity was suspended indefinitely, but the launch in other regions may proceed as scheduled upon the discretion of concerned executive committee members and regional directors.

DEPARTMENT of Health Officer in Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire announced on Sunday afternoon the postponement of the PinasLakas Bakunahang Bayan launch in the National Capital Region and the rest of Luzon on Monday because of Super Typhoon 'Karding.'The PinasLakas campaign aims to increase the vaccination coverage for Covid-19 booster doses to protect the population against severe infection and death due to the virus.

For the PinasLakas Special Vaccination Week from September 26 to 30, Vergeire said that DoH aims to reach a 30 percent booster dose vaccination rate — 6 percent more than the current 24 percent nationwide.The Health department said that work in their offices will continue, pending an official announcement from the Office of the President.
