The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday said that not all patients afflicted with coronavirus disease 2019 have to be admitted in medical facilities.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms or those who are asymptomatic may be allowed to undergo quarantine in their respective homes.

Aside from having their own room which will serve as an isolation area, the patient must also ensure that he or she will have minimal interaction with family members.

He mentioned that they can let those w/ mild or no symptoms to self isolate at home if: 1) they have an isolation room 2) they can lessen interaction w/ those in the house/apt 3) there's no 1 in their house/apt who are at high risk of having severe symtoms if infected.
