The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 781 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,703,100.

The Department of Health on Wednesday reported 781 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,703,100.

According to the DOH’s latest figures, the active tally also slightly increased from 7,192 on Tuesday to 7,202 on Wednesday. This is the highest since April 29, where 8,389 active infections were recorded. Among the top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region with 4,102, followed by Calabarzon with 1,433, Western Visayas with 746, Central Luzon with 563, and Central Visayas with 397.Meanwhile at least 11 new deaths were recorded as the death tally climbed to 60,542.

The DOH said at least 5,599 beds were occupied, while 23,974 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 18.9%. It also reported a total of 22,049 individuals were tested, while 326 testing labs submitted data as of June 28.
