The first P100 billion of the government’s emergency subsidy program for low-income households is now available for distribution, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd announced.“The first P100 billion for the first month’s cash distribution is available as certified by the Bureau of the Treasury,” he told reporters in a Viber message on Wednesday night.

The amount “will be augmented once the same is liquidated and/or reported to be deficient,” it added. “The P200-billion program for distribution in cash and basic needs over the next two months is the largest direct financial assistance program granted by the government to Filipino families in our country’s history,” Dominguez said earlier.

“We will urgently deliver this emergency subsidy to millions of our fellow Filipinos who live day-to-day on subsistence earnings or ‘no-work, no-pay’ arrangements,” Dominguez said.
