LONDON, United Kingdom – American pop star Beyonce Knowles-Carter has surprised fans with an early release of her single “Break My Soul” from upcoming album, setting social media ablaze with song lyrics that some say tap into rising worker anger at conditions.
Some commentators said the words channeled the post-pandemic “Great Resignation” in which businesses are struggling to find enough employees. The single was co-written by her husband Sean Carter and samples singer Robin S’s 1990s dance classic “Show Me Love” as well as featuring gay American rapper Big Freedia’s song “Explode.”
