Naglabas ng kautusan ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na bawal sumampa ang mga Filipino seafarer sa mga barkong dadaan sa Red Sea at Gulf of Aden.

Naglabas ng kautusan ang Department of Migrant Workers na bawal sumampa ang mga Filipino seafarer sa mga barkong dadaan sa Red Sea at Gulf of Aden.

Sa Department Order No. 2 na pinirmahan ni DMW officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac, nakasaad na hindi dapat sumakay ang mga Pinoy sa mga passenger at cruise vessels na dadaanan sa nasabing dalawang lugar na kasama sa listahan ng high-risk areas at war-like zones. Sa ilalim ng kautusan, inaatasan din ang mga licensed manning agencies na pumirma sa affirmation letter na naggagarantiya na ang barkong sasakyan ng mga Pinoy seafarers ay hindi dadaan sa Red Sea o sa Gulf of Aden.

Inaatasan din ang mga Pinoy seafarer na crew members ng barko na pumirma sa affirmation letter na nagsasaad na batid nilang hindi dadaanan sa nasabing bahagi ng karagatan ang barko na kanilang sasakyan. “The DMW remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the well-being of Filipino seafarers. These measures reflect the DMW’s dedication to ensuring safe working conditions and protecting our seafaring workforce,” ayon sa pahayag ng kagawaran. —FRJ, GMA Integrated News
