The number of Filipinos who were hurt due to the fire that broke out in Hong Kong's Kowloon district on Wednesday has increased to two, with both of them already “out of harm’s way,” the Department of Migrant Workers said Thursday.DMW officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac said the two Filipinos only suffered minor injuries — one of them from splinters and the other from smoke inhalation. “‘Yung male ay nagkaron ng bubog sa kanyang some parts of his body. Okay na siya. He has been treated.

“‘Yung isa na-discharge na sa hospital, ‘yung isa madi-discharge hopefully today. Both are safe, out of harm’s way,” Cacdac added. Cacdac said that the two Filipinos are already permanent residents in Hong Kong, and one of them just turned into a permanent resident last year and is still considered a member of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration . The DMW is working with the Philippine Consulate General’s office to extend assistance to the other Filipino who was injured.
