DAGUPAN CITY — Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas said on Tuesday that the Catholic Church cannot support the bill legalizing divorce in the country because 'it makes legal what to us is a transgression of Christ's sovereign will.
'And where true grounds exist, the canonical processes for the judicial declaration of the nullity of void marriages remains an avenue for unburdening couples from a marriage that does not, from the perspective of the church's law, truly exist,' he added.
