DILG orders LGUs, PNP to ensure closure of all cemeteries starting Oct. 29

As early as September, President Duterte had ordered their closure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The DILG chief noted that the LGUs and local police commanders are expected to be fully accountable in managing all cemeteries within their jurisdictions. “The local police commanders and the mayors by now should have discussed the rules that will be implemented per locality but all these local rules that will be crafted should conform to the guidelines set by the IATF,” Año said.
