Twelve Filipinos in the Middle East succumbed to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Saturday, bringing the total number of infected Filipino overseas to 6,140, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed.

Based on the latest data from the department, the reported deaths on June 20 brought to 495 the death toll among Filipinos abroad due to COVID-19.

According to the latest data, the most number of confirmed cases are found in the Middle East with 3,944; 1,691 recoveries; and 235 deaths. The second largest number of Filipinos with COVID-19 is recorded in Europe with 937 cases – 305 of them have already recovered while 94 died.
