It looks like a no go for Jordan Clarkson playing for the Philippines men's national basketball team in next week's FIBA World Cup.
In a text message to ABS-CBN News, Mike Clarkson, Jordan’s father, said that he has the utmost respect for Guiao and is confident the coach knows what’s best going forward. “However, he isn’t a selfish player and wouldn’t want to be a disruption to the team. Team chemistry is paramount when competing against the best players in the world.
“I’m just staying ready, just working if I get the opportunity, it’ll happen. But if not, its just . . . it is what it is and we’ll have to suit up another time,” Clarkson said. And while Clarkson may not be joining the Philippines for this World Cup, he has stayed busy at the Mamba Sports Academy, founded by his former teammate, Kobe Bryant.
