Before the phased implementation next year, the Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday, Aug. 10, announced that it will start pilot implementation of the revised K to 10 curriculum this school year.

Gonong explained that the pilot implementation of the MATATAG K to 10 Curriculum will be conducted in select schools nationwide.

“We’re just selecting schools from NCR [National Capital Region] and then from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” Gonong said. The schools that will be chosen for the pilot implementation, she said, “would represent schools across the country.” During her presentation of the MATATAG K to 10 Curriculum, Bureau of Curriculum Development Director Joyce Andaya explained that the new curriculum will be done in phases until 2028.
