In light of the COVID-19 situation in the country, DepEd will be rolling out a “remote enrollment” system to ensure that no physical registration will take place in schools. DepEd has set a month-long enrollment in public schools from June 1 to 30. For transferees, DepEd said that learners planning to transfer from one school to another need to “directly contact the receiving schools through published enrollment contact details.”
DepEd has earlier announced that the formal opening of the incoming SY is on August 24. Amid opposition coming from various stakeholders – particularly parents, teachers, and learners – Briones reiterated the intent of DepEd to ensure that education will continue even during emergencies.
